A Stylish, Heartfelt Celebration at Rupert on Rupert

Some weddings feel like stepping into a world completely crafted by the couple — thoughtful details, warm energy, effortless style, and an atmosphere that feels unmistakably them. Rebecca and Lucas’ wedding at Rupert on Rupert in Collingwood was exactly that. Filled with colour, creativity, music, laughter, and heartfelt moments, their day was a celebration of modern romance done beautifully, intentionally, and joyfully.

Getting Ready for a Big, Beautiful Celebration

Rebecca and Lucas each spent a slow, meaningful morning preparing for the day ahead. Lucas wore a striking forest-green suit — rich, elegant, and perfectly fitted — setting the tone for a celebration filled with strong style choices. Rebecca looked timeless in an elegant silk dress paired with a long, simple veil that floated behind her with every movement.

Two of her closest friends flew in from overseas, joined by Lucas’ dad, adding an emotional layer of love and reunion to the morning.

A Ceremony Filled With Heart (and a Few Gorgeous Flower Kids)

Their ceremony took place in Rupert on Rupert’s iconic greenhouse-style space — the kind of backdrop made for modern romantics. Rebecca’s niece and nephew stole the show early, enthusiastically emptying their basket of petals in a single, spectacular swoop. It was adorable, unplanned, and very on-brand for a family-centred celebration.

One of their close friends, Cassie, officiated their marriage — making the ceremony deeply personal. It was short, sweet, funny, and sentimental. A perfect reflection of who they are: practical, modern, and deeply in love.

Florals, Ceramics & Artistry — A Day Built by Friends

So many of the design elements were crafted by people they love, which made the space feel special in the most heartfelt way.

Their friend Elena designed and created the incredible native floral arbor that hung suspended from the rafters — bold, sculptural, and completely at home within Rupert’s industrial warmth. She also crafted ceramic vessels for the tables and statement arrangements throughout the venue. Everywhere you looked, there was colour, texture, and artistry.

Cocktail-Style Dining & A Vibrant Sea of Guests

Guests arrived dressed in eclectic patterns, colours, and textures — a vibrant crowd that filled the venue with joy and energy. The food flowed throughout the night in true cocktail style, with bowls served as mains, encouraging guests to mingle, chat, and move through the space freely.

It was lively, unfussy, social — exactly the atmosphere Rebecca and Lucas envisioned.

Editorial Portraits in the Heart of Collingwood

After the ceremony, the three of us slipped out for a walk around Collingwood’s streets for their photo session. They wanted relaxed editorial portraits: fun, simple, and honest. The laneways, brick textures, soft evening light, and industrial edges made the perfect backdrop.

These photos gave them time to breathe together — a quiet pause before the energy of the evening unfolded.

A Soundtrack of Vinyl, Live Music, and Dancing

Music played a huge role in their day. Danika from Little Wolf Entertainment played acoustic music as Rebecca walked down the aisle. Later, Lucas and Rebecca chose a vinyl DJ to guide the mood of the reception — spinning records that filled the room with warmth and nostalgia.

Their cake — a vintage-style vanilla dream — featured Rebecca’s favourite detail of the entire wedding: a cake topper of two cats dressed in wedding outfits. Whimsical, sweet, and very them.

A Reception Full of Energy, Stories & Sparkle

As the night went on, speeches from their “best people,” family, and Rebecca’s dad brought a mix of tears, laughter, and heartfelt storytelling.

And then came one of the best transformations of the day — Rebecca changed into a short, embroidered sequin dress paired with a giant bow in her hair. It was the perfect outfit for dancing, shimmering under the venue lights as the floor opened and the party truly began.

A Day Built With Love, Community & Creative Touches

Rebecca and Lucas’ wedding was a beautiful reminder that weddings don’t need to be traditional to be deeply meaningful. Their day was crafted with intention — with art, music, friendships, family, laughter, and emotion woven through every moment.

It was colourful, modern, warm, and completely them.
